Photograph the Spectacle of Predator and Prey as the Vast Herds Traverse the Endless Plains

Among the world’s epic wildlife events, few can match Tanzania’s Great Wildebeest Migration. And for nature photographers, there is simply nothing like being in the midst of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra as they make their annual trek over the Serengeti Plain in pursuit of new grass. Agile predators steal behind, poised to seize the young and the weak that trail the great herds. To truly capture the wonder of the migration in images, it’s essential to witness it from key vantage points that offer close-up views—and the only way to do that is through say in the camp which is situated in the park

With HTT-SAFARIS we would like to show you the best Hidden Treasure of Tanzania, this is a very special tour that allows you to concentrate most of your time in the Serengeti, to follow the unique spectacle that is the Great Wildebeest Migration. You will be able to spend at least 4 nights in the park, usually two in the Central Area (with the largest concentration of big cats) and the other two where the Migration is according to the time of the year

We have designed this particular safari so that you finish the safari in the most remote location in the Serengeti, and then fly from there to your next destination. However, if you don’t wish to fly, we will redesign your tour so that you can drive out form Serengeti.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TANZANIA.

Arrive in Tanzania at the Kilimanjaro International airport where you will meet and greet with HTT Safaris guide. Then transfer to Arusha for dinner and overnight at Planet lodge.

DAY2.TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be picked up and drive to Tarangire National Park almost 2and half hours drive. Enjoy your full day game viewing in Tarangire. The Park is reputed to contain some of the largest herds of elephant in Africa and Ancient Baobab trees. Also there are other animals such us African Big Cats, Antelopes, (Eland, Buffalos, wildebeest, impala, grant Gazelles etc.  ), Giraffes, Zebras, monkeys and many other animals

DAY 3: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After your breakfast you will head north to Lake Manyara National Park. It’s about 1 hour drive from the exit of Tarangire. Lake Manyara National is at the foot of the Great Rift Valley. The park is named after the soda lake in The middle of the park. The park is famous for its tree Climbing lions, great bird life and the breading lessor flamingos. At the evening drive to the lodge. Dinner and Overnight at Farm house. All meals included.

DAY 4: NGORONGORO CRATER

 After Breakfast it’s time for the famous Ngorongoro Crater. It’s about 10minuts drive from the lodge to the entrance of the Ngorongoro

Conservation area. From there enjoy the magnificent tropical forest on your way to Crater view point, where you will witness one of the beautiful landscape in the world.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area boasts the finest blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeological sites in Africa. Often called “the African Eden”. The Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site, is nestled in a range of extinct volcanoes which rise to heights of more than 3,500 meters (11,483 feet). It is the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world – 19.2 km (12 miles) in diameter, 610 m (2,000feet) deep and 304 sq. km (117 sq. miles) in area.

Ngorongoro is a huge and deep volcanic Crater. There’s rich pasture, swamps, forest and permanent water on the Crater floor that’s why wildlife is so diverse and numerous. The crater floor is home to the largest population of mammals and you can spot the big 5 here on a relatively small area just stunning. Is the best opportunity to see black Rhino and many other rare species like the black-manned Lion.  After game drive enjoy your picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok spring in the crater.

After lunch enjoy the rest of your time for game drive and late afternoon drive to the lodge;

DAY5– NDUTU AREA

After breakfast with parked lunch game drive in Ndutu area, it is located in the Northern Ngorongoro Conservation and attached to southern Serengeti. Ndutu is alkaline lake as other most of the Rift lakes; however the water is still drinkable and used by the animals.

Ndutu area has got palatable grasses with nutritional value which attracting wild animals to for grazing after the rainfall season. This makes the area to be very potential for great wildebeest migration which also joined by other animals like Zebras and Gazelles without forgetting big cats and other predators which follow the migration for having easy prey. Also Ndutu is the only area which is the multiple land use where by Human being and wildlife can share the same habitat this allows us to do off-roading. After game viewing drive back the camp.

DAY 6 –NDUTU AREA

After breakfast at the camp, drive with parked lunch or hot lunch at the camp; enjoy a full day game drive in the Ndutu area. Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the Ndutu short grass plains. You can see great herds of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time frame around February, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calve. The sea of grass provides security for the young calves although they are easy prey. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd. After this unforgettable day drive back to the camp

DAY 7: NDUTU

After breakfast at the camp, drive with parked lunch or hot lunch at the camp; enjoy a full day game drive in the Ndutu area. As this program designed special for great wildebeest migration photographic we give you enough time to this photogenic area. This will be the good opportunity to witness wildebeest calving and make the incredible image which will create unforgettable memories.

After this unforgettable day drive back to the camp

DAY 8 – NDUTU – CENTRAL SERENGETI

After breakfast at the camp with parked lunch drive towards the central Serengeti, also known as Seronera. We descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

DAY 9 – FULL DAY IN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARKS

After breakfast at the camp, drive with parked lunch or hot lunch at the camp; enjoy a full day game drive in the central serengeti.

Option Activies

Be one of only a few fortunate people to glide in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at supplementary cost by pre-arrangement).

One of the most magically memorable of the Serengeti experiences, a balloon safari allows you to drift in silence above the splendour of the plains,

A balloon offers an opportunity to see the Serengeti from a unique perspective. You will notice wildlife trails made by generations of animals impossible to see from the ground.

You will be picked up very early at 5.00am in the morning and from there you will be taken to the start point of the balloon ride. The balloon ride its about 1:30 hours and you can see the sun rise from the balloon and experience the real nature of Africa.

After The balloon Ride you will enjoy champagne and bush breakfast which normally ends at 10am.

After Bush breakfast you will meet your guide and drive you on another fantastic day of game viewing in the Serengeti,

After an extensive game viewing drive back to the camp;

Dinner and overnight Serengeti Katikati Camp in the Seronera area.

DAY 10 – SERENGETI PLAINS – ARUSHA

After breakfast at the camp, game on route to the Seronera airstrip for embarking to Arusha airport. Upon arrival to Arusha airport, meet our driver and transfer to the Lodge or to Kilimanjaro International Airport for connect your flight.

NOTE

This safari can be connected to Zanzibar Island tour, this beautifully Island along Indian Ocean reputed as very unique and attractive white sand beach in the world. After long safari you can swimming and relaxing while starching your back waiting for your flight back home.
